TAWAU: Six houses were destroyed or damaged in a fire at Lorong Haji Sundu, Mile 2, Jalan Apas, here, Wednesday.
A mosque and a Proton Saga were also affected. Tawau Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Chief Julius John Stephen Jr said two of the houses were completely destroyed in the 9.30am incident, while the other four were 30 per cent burnt.
“The Al Munawarah Mosque was 13pc burnt and the car 10pc,” he said.
He said 17 personnel along with three machines were deployed to the location after receiving an emergency call at 9.37am and they managed to control the fire from spreading at 9.57am.
No casualties were reported and the cause of the incident and losses were still under investigation.
