TAWAU: Six family members were injured, including two seriously, when their Perodua Aruz collided with a Toyota Hilux on Jalan Tibau–Maliau Basin at around 4.02pm on Thursday.

A 45-second dashcam video from a passing lorry captured the crash and has since gone viral on social media.

The footage shows the Toyota Hilux attempting to overtake an oil tanker at a bend before colliding with the Perodua Aruz.

The crash left the 47-year-old Perodua Aruz driver with knee injuries requiring five stitches, his 41-year-old wife and their seven-year-old daughter seriously injured, while their three other children, aged eight to 12, sustained minor injuries.

All victims received treatment at Keningau Hospital, both vehicles were severely damaged, and police are investigating under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and inconsiderate driving.
