Six killed as sightseeing helicopter crashes into New York’s Hudson River

  • Six people, including three children, died after a helicopter crashed into the Hudson River in New York City.
  • The victims were identified as Siemens executive Agustin Escobar, his wife Mercè Camprubí Montal, their three children, and the pilot. The family was visiting from Spain.
  • The Helicopter, a Bell 206 LongRanger operated by New York Helicopter Tours, was on a sightseeing tour when it crashed near Pier 40 in Lower Manhattan.
  • Witnesses reported hearing loud noises and seeing pieces falling off the Helicopter before it plunged into the river. The main rotor blades were reportedly missing from the Helicopter in a video of the crash.
  • Mayor Eric Adams confirmed the deaths, and President Trump offered condolences. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the Crash.
