KOTA KINABALU: Six families from Kampung Nelayan 1 in Likas who lost their homes will be allowed to resettle on a two-acre site gazetted for village housing, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

He clarified that the land (CL.015669799) belongs to MLGH (Sabah) Sdn Bhd, not Rimdaya Sdn Bhd as previously believed. A land acquisition notice was gazetted on June 5 and 12, 2025.

A letter authorising Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) to take over the site, along with a compensation offer to MLGH, was issued on June 30. DBKK will now prepare the layout for the new settlement.
