A six-metre hillside collapsed in Taman Bukit Teratai, Ampang, with no casualties reported; authorities suspect an underground pipe leak as the cause

AMPANG: A six-metre-high hillside collapsed at Taman Bukit Teratai in Ampang today.

The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department suspects the incident was caused by a leakage from an underground pipe.

The department received an emergency call about the incident at 9.19 am.

A fire engine with six personnel and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services unit was dispatched from the Pandan Indah station.

They arrived at the location at 9.28 am and confirmed the landslide involved a slope approximately six metres high.

The incident did not involve any houses or cause any casualties.

Department operations division assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said they are monitoring the site.

He said the monitoring is to ensure the situation remains safe and does not pose any danger to area residents.
