
Kota Kinabalu: Six well-known Sabah women who have demonstrated excellence and success in their respective fields were bestowed the “Outstanding Women Entrepreneur Award” at the State-level International Women’s Day 2025 celebration organised by the United Sabah Chinese Communities Association of Kota Kinabalu (USCCAKK), Saturday night.
USCCAKK President Datuk Susan Wong Siew Guen announced the recipients comprising businesswomen, professionals and philanthropists. They were Datuk Eliza Goh, Datin Seri Vicky Yee, Chin Lee Ling, Ts Sally Chen, Angelina Liew, and Vicky Kang Phui Yie.

She was accompanied by State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Christina Liew, and Susan at Hakka Hall.

“While Vicky Yee is a successful career woman and a lawyer. As you all know, her husband, Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Yee Moh Chai, is a former deputy Chief Minister.

The fourth recipient, Ts. Sally, is a young professional and an entrepreneur who founded ‘The Best Solution Management Sdn Bhd’ that specialises in management system development, corporate and industry training, and industry impact assessment.

“The last recipient, Vicky, is the Executive Director of Colform Group Berhad. It provides high standard, safe and reliable building solutions.
Susan hoped the recipients will continue to strive for excellence, achieve even greater success and make more significant contributions to society. “I hope your success inspires others to follow in your footsteps,” she said.
Susan said USCCAKK’s organised the “1st Outstanding Women Entrepreneur Awards” in 2023.
Last year, she said the “Most Outstanding Woman Award” went to the Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Environment of Sabah, Datuk Seri Christina Liew , for her remarkable achievements in both the political and professional fields, and to become a role model for many women to dream of.
She said USCCAKK organised the International Women’s Day celebration annually at State level so as to inspire and motivate more women to work hard in their own career and to demonstrate the strengths and beautiful contemporary women empowerment.
“Our dress code this year is Baba Nyonya, and we hope to gain a deeper understanding of Malaysia’s rich diverse cultural heritage. The fashion show allows women to show their talents and build up their self-confidence,” she said, adding the theme for the International Women’s Day celebration was “Women Make the World Beautiful”.
“I encourage women in Sabah to continue their struggle no matter where you are whether you are old or young. Must never give up.
“Some people would point to your old age which they think might hamper what you want to achieve. Don’t listen to what these people say. Just continue what you are doing to reach your goals and ambitions in careers and businesses.
“But the most important thing is to make sure you (women) get support from your families, spouses and friends to continue your journey towards achieving what you have worked hard for,” she said.
