Sixteen dead in bus crash on Egypt’s Red Sea Coast

  • Sixteen people were killed and 28 others injured after a bus overturned on the Dahab-Nuweiba road in South Sinai, Egypt.
  • The incident took place on a stretch of the Red Sea coast that is popular with tourists.
  • Twenty ambulances rushed to the scene of the crash, with the nationalities of the deceased yet to be released.
  • Egypt's Health Minister, Dr Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, directed medical teams to operate at full capacity to treat the casualties.
  • The incident comes shortly after a separate road incident in Egypt's Ismailia governorate in August left 15 people dead and 32 injured.
