SK Air Hitam Labu student among three killed after being hit by immigration truck

A STUDENT of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Air Hitam Labu, Siti Darwisyah Auni Shaik Mohd. Firdaus was among three family members who died in an accident involving an Immigration Department (JIM) lorry on Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur, early this morning.

Also killed in the incident were Siti Darwisyah, Auni's sister and her father.

SK Air Hitam Labu shared the sad news through a condolence message on Facebook today.

“It is with great sadness that we inform you that one of our students, Siti Darwisyah Auni Shaik Mohd. Firdaus, along with her sister and father, has returned to rahmatullah.

“Teachers and students of SK Air Hitam Labu express their heartfelt condolences to the entire family,” the post said.

The school also prayed that Allah would forgive all the sins and mistakes of the three victims and place their souls among the faithful.

At the same time, the school residents prayed that the family who was left behind would be given strength, perseverance and patience to face the ordeal.

It was earlier reported that a family of three, a 53-year-old man and his two daughters, aged 25 and 12, died after being hit by an Immigration Department truck in an incident at the Maju Junction traffic light intersection, Jalan Sultan Ismail at about 1 am.

Initial police investigations found that the truck belonging to the Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory department was involved in a collision with a Proton Saga before losing control and hitting four pedestrians, who were a family and an Inokom Matrix car.

A 55-year-old woman, who is also the wife of the male victim and mother of two female victims, survived but suffered injuries to her head, right hand and both legs before being sent to the Red Zone of the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for further treatment.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. – August 19, 2026
