SK FELDA Kota Gelanggi 1’s RM7.998 million dilapidated building reconstruction was completed 310 days early, benefiting pupils with improved facilities
JERANTUT: The reconstruction of a dilapidated building at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) FELDA Kota Gelanggi 1 here has been completed 310 days ahead of schedule, enabling pupils to enjoy more comfortable and conducive learning facilities.
Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said the RM7.998 million project was completed ahead of schedule without any extension of time (EOT), demonstrating good performance in the implementation of government projects.
“The project started on Jan 13 last year and was fully completed on June 26, ahead of the original completion date of May 2, 2027.
“This means the project was completed nearly a year ahead of schedule, or more than 300 days ahead. This is a very good achievement,” he told reporters at the project handover ceremony at the school here today.
The project involved the construction of a new academic block comprising three classrooms, a science room and a health room, as well as an Special Education Integration Programme (PPKI) block equipped with facilities for pupils with special educational needs.
According to Nanta, 17 pupils with special educational needs would benefit from the facilities provided under the project.
He said several other construction and upgrading projects involving dilapidated buildings in Pahang were currently underway, and expressed hope that they could also be completed ahead of schedule.
Earlier in his speech, Nanta urged contractors to ensure that all complaints regarding defects during the defect liability period (DLP) were addressed promptly and effectively.
“The Public Works Department must continue its post-handover monitoring to ensure that all facilities remain safe, in good condition and meet the required standards,” he said.
