SANDAKAN: The SK Merpati football team emerged as champions at the international level when they defeated the Federal Territory of Labuan team 3-1 in a penalty shoot-out in the final after the match was tied 1-1 at the Dash Football Academy International Football Championship which was held for the first time at the Brunei Darussalam Sports School on December 17-18.
On Tuesday, a reception to celebrate the team’s victory and homecoming was briefly held at the school here.
It was attended by Assistant Education Officer (PPD) Sandakan Ahmad Yusof Mohamad, who represented his Officer, Dr. Dalmansa Tahil, SK Merpati Headmaster
