Kota Kinabalu: The six-state Star Karnival Cuti-Cuti Malaysia (SKCCM) 2026 tour aims to attract more than 200,000 visitors and generate over RM1 million in sales nationwide.
Deputy Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Chan Foong Hin said Sabah was the third stop after Pahang and Johor, with Penang, Selangor and Sarawak to follow.
Although tourism falls outside his ministerial portfolio, Chan officiated at the Sabah edition as Kota Kinabalu MP, as the event was held within his constituency.
The three-day carnival at Imago Shopping Mall here, features tourism packages and promotions from 40 participants, alongside performances, interactive activities and lucky draws.
Chan said the initiative encouraged domestic travel while supporting tourism businesses and preparations for Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 and Visit Sabah 2027.
