SANDAKAN: The Sabah State Land Development Board (SLDB) has distributed RM4.62 million in surplus income for 2025 to 300 settlers in the East Coast, reflecting improved plantation management and higher palm oil yields.

Of the total, 184 settlers in Sungai Manila received RM3.3 million, while settlers in Suan Lamba and Ulu Dusun received RM180,000 and RM280,000 respectively. Payments will be made in stages from end-January to early February 2026.

General Manager Datuk Syaheddrul R Joddari said average settler income reached RM1,910 per month in 2025, exceeding targets, with Fresh Fruit Bunch production in Sandakan and Sukau up nearly 18 percent year-on-year.

He said Federal and State support, including RM2.5 million for fertiliser and RM2.36 million for estate road upgrades, also helped boost productivity and reduce costs.
