SLEX, STAR toll hikes to take effect July 1

MOTORISTS using the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR) Tollway will pay higher fees beginning July 1 as the second tranche of approved rate increases takes effect, the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) said over the weekend.

The adjustment follows the implementation of the first tranche in January 2026 and is based on a consolidated petition covering toll rate adjustments for 2018, 2020, 2022, and 2024.

The TRB said the increase was approved to support the continued operations and maintenance of the two major expressways, including efforts to maintain safer, faster, and more efficient travel for motorists.

For SLEX, motorists traveling the full Alabang-to-Sto. Tomas route will pay an additional P14 for Class 1 vehicles, P27 for Class 2 vehicles, and P41 for Class 3 vehicles.

Under the new rates, the Alabang-to-Calamba section will cost P137 for Class 1 vehicles, P274 for Class 2 vehicles, and P411 for Class 3 vehicles.

The Calamba-to-Sto. Tomas section will charge P37 for Class 1 vehicles, P74 for Class 2 vehicles, and P111 for Class 3 vehicles.

The increases for the Alabang-to-Calamba segment amount to an additional P11 for Class 1 vehicles, P21 for Class 2 vehicles, and P32 for Class 3 vehicles, while the Calamba-to-Sto. Tomas segment will increase by P3, P6, and P9 for the same vehicle classes.

For STAR Tollway, motorists traveling from Sto. Tomas to Batangas City will see an end-to-end increase of P8 for Class 1 vehicles, P17 for Class 2 vehicles, and P26 for Class 3 vehicles.

The approved rates for the Sto. Tomas-to-Lipa section will be P64 for Class 1 vehicles, P128 for Class 2 vehicles, and P192 for Class 3 vehicles.

The Lipa-to-Batangas City section will have new toll rates of P57 for Class 1 vehicles, P114 for Class 2 vehicles, and P171 for Class 3 vehicles.

For the entire Sto. Tomas-to-Batangas City route, motorists will pay P121 for Class 1 vehicles, P242 for Class 2 vehicles, and P363 for Class 3 vehicles.

The increases for STAR’s first section are P4, P9, and P13 for Class 1, 2, and 3 vehicles, respectively, while the second section will increase by P4, P8, and P12.

The rate adjustments will be implemented by Star Infrastructure Development Corp. and San Miguel Corporation’s SLEX Inc.

SLEX is a 36-kilometer expressway connecting Muntinlupa City and Sto. Tomas, Batangas, serving as a major link between Metro Manila and the provinces of Laguna and Batangas.

STAR Tollway, meanwhile, spans about 42 kilometers from Sto. Tomas to Batangas City and provides a key route to southern Batangas, including the Port of Batangas and major tourism and industrial areas.
