SM Prime Holdings Inc. said Monday that its major live entertainment venues had drawn over 1 million visitors in the first eight months of 2026, up 52 percent from a year earlier amid sustained demand for concerts, sporting events and family shows.
The company attributed the increase to a steady pipeline of events and the addition of the SM Seaside Cebu Arena to its portfolio.
The SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena, SM Seaside Cebu Arena and SMDC Festival Grounds collectively welcomed more than 1 million visitors as of August, reflecting continued domestic demand for live entertainment.
“Our venues provide Filipino audiences with a complete experience before, during and after a live event,” SM Prime President Jeffrey Lim said in a statement.
The SM MOA Arena hosted more than 110 shows from January to August, up by 20 percent from the same period last year.
The newly opened SM Seaside Cebu Arena also got off to a strong start after its official opening in July, hosting sold-out concerts by Filipino acts.
SM Prime expects event activity to remain strong through the final months of the year with sold-out shows at the MOA Arena.
SM Prime-managed venues are also building their 2027 event calendar, with announced events including Westlife’s anniversary tour, The Script’s three-show run, Maroon 5’s Asia 2027 tour, and BIGBANG at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Manila, as well as the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup in Cebu.
Shares of the company on Monday rose P0.68, or 4.29 percent, to close at P16.54 each.
