Dutch great Wesley Sneijer feels Enzo Fernandez was at fault for Chelsea's Champions League defeat at home to Real Madrid.

The 2-0 loss saw Chelsea lose their quarterfinal 4-0 on aggregate.

Reflecting on the second-leg, Sneijder said on RTL7: "If you have been brought in as a player for 100 million, then you can expect that he will at least run out of his lungs, right?

"This is not possible, this must be addressed.

"And then you look at a boy like that, what does he do?

"I don't think he's great football either.

"I thought he would do it at Chelsea, but he doesn't. I would say: call that boy on the mat tomorrow. If things don't go smoothly in football, and you can't score goals. Then you have to make sure you don't get any goals. Then you just have to run your lungs out, and he won't do that.

""Then I understand that as an owner (Todd Boehly), and you have paid so much money, you are angry and walk in (to the dressing room). That you are watching as an owner in the stands and see that (Conor) Gallagher does pull such a sprint and your man of 100 million not. Yes, then I would also get angry."
