Who doesn’t love doughnuts? Well, I think most of us do. There are many types of doughnuts available nowadays. We have oreo doughnuts, strawberry doughnuts, chocolate doughnuts, coffee doughnuts, blueberry doughnuts, cheese cream doughnuts, etc.
Today I am going to share with you a Soft & Fluffy Doughnut recipe which is a basic doughnut recipe that you can make at home. Let’s start now.

Ingredients
- 200 ml warm milk
- 2 tablespoons castor sugar
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 300 grams (2 cups) of bread flour
- ½ teaspoon fine salt
- 30 grams butter
- 2 cups oil for frying
Doughnut coating
- ⅔ cups castor sugar mix with ½ teaspoon cinnamon powder
Method
- Take a bowl and start by pouring in the milk. Then add sugar and yeast. Mix well. Leave it for 10 minutes until the yeast gets activated.
- Now take another large bowl, and put in flour and salt. Mix well and make a hole in the centre. Pour the milk mixture into it. Knead this into a dough. Let this dough rest for 30 minutes. Cover it with a cloth.
- After 30 minutes, add in butter and knead this dough for 3 minutes until all the butter is well mixed.
- Make 12 equal-sized balls and keep them aside for 1 hour for the dough to rise on a tray.
- After 1 hour, press the dough with your palm, making it into a circular shape.
- Poke your finger in the centre and make a hole. Now go in a circular motion until you form a doughnut shape.
- Now keep all these doughnuts on a floured surface for 40 minutes to rise.
- Before frying the doughnuts, put your finger through and then move it in circular movement again to make it slightly bigger.
- Start your fire on a low flame. Pour oil into a deep pan. Put in 4 doughnuts at a time.
- Do not flip the doughnuts too many times while frying. Just flip it twice.
- Coat the doughnuts with castor sugar and cinnamon while they are still warm. Done! Enjoy your Soft & Fluffy Doughnuts. You will get 12 doughnuts.
Final thoughts:
- If you don’t have bread flour, you may use plain flour.
- It is important to cover the doughnuts with a cloth while proofing.
- You do not need a board and a rolling pin to shape the doughnuts.
- Other than caster sugar, you may coat the doughnuts in melted chocolate too!!
