Eclipses are one of the crucial astronomical events that have transformational effects on all the zodiac signs. In 2025, there will be four eclipses. Before we get into the details of the upcoming solar and lunar eclipses of 2025, let us first decode the astrological and astronomical significance of these celestial events.

What is an eclipse?

An eclipse occurs when the sun’s light is obstructed by a celestial body like the moon or any planet. This celestial event is the result of a perfect alignment between the sun, earth and moon. While a lunar eclipse occurs when the earth is directly between the sun and the moon, a solar eclipse occurs when the moon is between the earth and the sun.

Based on the alignment and position of these celestial bodies, there are a few types of solar and lunar eclipses. The most commonly known include total solar eclipses and annular solar eclipses. Other types include partial and hybrid. Similarly, there is a total lunar eclipse, penumbral lunar eclipse and hybrid lunar eclipse.
