Kota Kinabalu: In her address, Swepa President Sitti Bahaya Damsal said the Solar Barefoot 3.0 project faced many challenges that started before the Covid-19 pandemic in 2019 and were subsequently significantly delayed.
“Even so, the organising committee of Swepa and FHIM remained steadfast until finally the solar equipment was delivered to Kampung Paus.
“Together with the Kg Paus Solar Committee and Solar Mama Inggai Suging, 130 houses installed with solar electrification systems by 2022,” said Sitti.
She hoped all the Kg Paus Solar committee to cooperate professionally with solar mama and other leaders so that they will be able to improve their standard of living.
Sitti also announced that Project Solar 3.0 was Swepa’s final project and that SWEPA will not continue the Solar project in the future.
“However, Swepa has no obstacles if there is another association or organisation that wants to continue this noble endeavour where it is in line or parallel with the objective of the association.
“For Swepa, the direct involvement in this project is a significant success and it is time for Swepa to focus towards the original Swepa vision and mission, which is to help its members in terms of empowering female entrepreneurs and professionals in helping together to improve Sabah’s economy,” said Sitti.
