SANDAKAN: The government is considering installing a solar system at Masjid Darus Salam in Kampung Bahagia to improve facilities, says Religious Affairs Minister Dr. Zulkifli Hasan.

The mosque plays a key role in the local community, especially after serving as a temporary shelter for recent fire victims.

He said the ministry has experience with solar-powered mosques and will study the feasibility before proceeding to ensure long-term benefits.

During his visit to the evacuation centre at Dewan PPR Batu Sapi, he also witnessed the handover of RM450,000 in aid from agencies and NGOs to support fire victims and relief workers.
