
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Electricity (SE) has received an offer to develop a 15-megawatt AC (MWac) Large-scale Solar Photovoltaic (LSSPV) project from the Energy Commission of Sabah.

AdvertisementHe explained that the LSSPV project will involve the installation of 15 MWac of solar panels in Kampung Langkon, Kota Marudu, to improve the reserve margin of Sabah’s electrical grid during peak daytime hours.
“This achievement marks a positive step in SE and TRe’s efforts to support renewable energy initiatives and contribute to the sustainability of green energy in Sabah,” he said in a statement, Tuesday.

Mohd Yaakob also emphasised that SE is committed to green technology, including the development of a 100-megawatt Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) infrastructure in Lahad Datu.
