NABAWAN: Ten villages in the Pagalungan sub-district, involving nearly 1,000 residents, will soon enjoy a 24-hour electricity supply after a low-voltage distribution system powered by a hybrid solar system was installed.
The villages benefiting from this project include Sosogoh, Kuyoh, Binanding, Sigatal Lama, Sigatal Baru, Sabibingkol, Sumakakiuakiu, Mangkam, Silungai, and Sumaralang.
According to Nabawan District Officer Ts Marshal Anthony Idham, the project was previously delayed due to land issues related to the designated site. “However, after direct discussions with the affected residents, the project will commence immediately,” he said.
Marshal said the hybrid solar system is part of the Rural Electricity Supply Project (Bekalan Elektrik Luar Bandar or BELB), funded by the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (Kementerian Kemajuan Desa dan Wilayah or KKDW), and is expected to benefit the local communities significantly.
