MANILA, Philippines — Actress and visual artist Solenn Heussaff is exploring inheritance, personal growth and freedom through two new works now on view at Provenance Art Gallery in Power Plant Mall.
Unveiled on Sept. 10, “Pamana” and “Still Growing Wild” form part of the fifth segment of “Bridging the Gap 2,” the gallery’s continuing exhibition series featuring contemporary Filipino artists.
“Pamana” carries the figurative style closely associated with Heussaff, centering on a woman within a frame designed by Vito Selma. The work reflects on what one generation passes on to the next through traditions, memories and shared ways of living.
In “Still Growing Wild,” Heussaff continues her exploration of a newer abstract technique. The piece considers freedom and growth as experiences that are not always polished or certain, finding beauty instead in moving forward without having everything figured out.
The two works remain on view at Provenance Art Gallery throughout September.
