Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed Manchester United rejected the chance to sign Erling Haaland for 4m.
The Manchester City striker has just been named Player of the Year by the Football Writers Association.
Solskjaer recommended Haaland to United when coach of Molde - before his own move to Old Trafford. The youngster would eventually be sold to RB Salzburg.
He told The Sun: I called United about six months before I took over and told them that I'd got this striker that we had but they didn't listen.
"I asked for 4million for Haaland but they didn't sign him."
Haaland eventually ended up at City for 50million and is now rated as the world's most valuable striker at 200million.
