An overwhelming majority of 92% of Israelis believe that Iran has emerged as the winner from the war launched by the United States and Israel in late February, according to a poll conducted by the Hebrew University and published on Sunday.

According to the survey, conducted in cooperation with the Agam Institute, 83% believe that the campaign weakened Israel's long-term security, while 86% described the fallout from the war as negative.

Around 73% of respondents said they did not believe Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's claim that Israel achieved significant gains and removed an existential threat, with 88% of those questioned saying the country failed to achieve its objectives or fulfilled only some of them.

With regard to Netanyahu's performance, 56% rated the premier’s handling of the campaign as poor or failed.

A total of 3,644 Israelis aged 17 and over were questioned for the representative survey between June 17 and 20.
