Joao Mendes de Assis Moreira is set to sign for Barcelona.
Moreira is the son of Barca and Brazil great Ronaldinho and is an attacking player like his father.
The teen turns 18 later this month and is hopeful of being handed a contract by Barca when his birthday arrives on the 25th.
Moreira has been training with Barca Atletic since Christmas and has impressed coaching staff. He was with Cruzeiro, though chose to terminate his deal in order to take his chance in Europe.
Former junior coach Amarildo Ribeiro, who worked with Moreira at Belo Horizonte, told Foot Mercato: He is a promising player with a lot of style. I think it won't take long for him to evolve with the pros. He is very athletic and very good technically. He can play as a centre-forward as well as an attacking midfielder. He is tall, but he runs fast and remains dexterous."
