SOOK: A farmer was bitten to death by a suspected cobra while clearing his garden late Wednesday afternoon last week.

Sook Police Chief SM Awang Sarikol Ambuloi confirmed the incident and named the victim as Mostone Benjamin, 36.

“Police found several bite wounds on the victim’s arms and thighs, he told Daily Express.

The victim’s body was referred to the hospital the following day but the family immediately claimed it after learning the cause of death.

“They found his body face down at 6am not far from the lawn machines used to clean the garden. There were wounds on the left arm,” Mostone’s sister, Judith Benjamin said.

The victim’s family made a police report on Tuesday to warn the public against distorting the facts of their loss.

Awang Sarikol confirmed the victim’s death had no element of crime.
