Sotto unseated as Senate president in coup

MANILA, Philippines — The Senate minority bloc staged a coup and unseated Senate President Vicente Sotto after securing 13 votes to effect leadership change.

Sen. Ronald dela Rosa appeared at the chamber after five months of being absent.

Voting 13-10-1, the senators voted to declare all seats vacant.
