Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl says Dom Ballard and Jimmy Jay Morgan are close to the first team.

England youth international Morgan, just 16 years old, impressed with a brace at Portsmouth during the eventual 5-2 defeat in the Hampshire Senior Cup.

Meanwhile, Ballard has already made his first-team debut and scored for Hasenhuttl in the 3-0 EFL Cup win at Cambridge United in August.

“I've heard a lot of good things about them. They're young. We have a very young team so it makes it harder for them to step in, because we have all the young players up there," he admitted.

“But as often as we are able to bring them to the squad they are part of us and in some moments, we will see if they have a chance to be in the team. Why not?"
