Southampton defender Kyle Walker-Peters admits they were flat for defeat at Aston Villa on Friday night.

Saints lost 1-0 via Jacob Ramsey's winner for Villa.

Walker-Peters said, "I don't think we were on it today. They won more duels and second balls than us. They were a bit more aggressive than us.

"I can't say why. We work on it and spoke about it before the game. Last season they destroyed us with exactly the same thing. Just this time we didn't lose by four goals.

"I'm really disappointed. I thought we got a bit better in the second half but not enough to get anything from the game.

"None of us were good enough today. We have to review the game and work on the training pitch to better it for the next game."
