Southampton striker Che Adams was grateful to the home support after victory over Leicester City.
Carlos Alcaraz struck the winner as James Ward-Prowse had a penalty saved.
Adams said: "It was a grind from start to finish and we knew that would be the case.
"We had the fans with us today and pushed through to the end.
"I saw Alcaraz behind me and I knew he was in. We work on that in training and I'm glad it was onside. Everyone played their role today."
