Sparta Prague U18 thumped Liverpool 4-0 today.
The Reds' youngsters put in a strong showing in the opening half though fell to defeat on home soil, as the Czech Republic visitors scored four goals after the change of ends.
Reflecting on the outing, U18s manager Marc Bridge-Wilkinson told Liverpoolfc.com: "It was a great experience to play against foreign opposition. It was great for some of these boys, because with covid some of them haven't experienced that.
"It's a new group, a new intake… so it was a fantastic experience overall. It was a good performance in terms of the first half, albeit a learning curve in the second.
"We're just trying to get everyone together and get them enough minutes under their belt so that when the season starts, we're fit and ready to go."
