THE Southern Police District arrested two suspects on Friday in Muntinlupa and Pasay cities as it ramped up its crackdown on illegal firearms. Police operatives identified one suspect in an entrapment operation in Muntinlupa City.
The operation stemmed from information provided by an informant regarding the suspect's alleged illegal sale of unregistered firearms in the area. Recovered during the operation were one.38 caliber revolver, three live rounds of.38 caliber ammunition, a black sling bag, and marked money used in the entrapment operation.
In a separate operation late Friday, the Station Intelligence Section of Pasay City Police Station arrested a man seen holding a firearm.
Police Brig. Gen. Rodel Pastor, SPD district director, said that the illegal possession and sale of firearms will remain a priority.
