Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta on Tuesday strongly advocated for a nationally harmonised framework of legislative procedures, calling it an “institutional necessity” in the era of digital governance and technology-driven legislatures.
Speaking at the preliminary meeting of the Committee of Presiding Officers to frame a Uniform Model of Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business for Legislative Bodies in Mysore, Gupta said common procedural standards would strengthen transparency, executive accountability and consistency across democratic institutions in the country.
