Kota Kinabalu: A special exhibition in conjunction with the State-level Malaysia Day 2023 celebration will be held at ITCC Penampang on Sept 12-16, from 10am to 9pm daily.

The exhibition, themed “Malaysia Madani: Tekad Perpaduan, Penuhi Harapan”, is organised by the Exhibition Implementation Committee in conjunction with the 2023 Malaysia Day Celebration chaired by the Sabah Archives Department Director in collaboration with other state ministries, departments and agencies.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor is scheduled to officiate the opening of the exhibition on Sept 12, at 10am.

According to a statement Monday, the exhibition is meant to enlighten the public about the history of Sabah’s participation in the formation of Malaysia and the struggle of the earlier prominent leaders, as well as the Royal Sulu Force intrusion in Tanduo, Lahad Datu in 2013.

Also participating are the Community Development and People’s Wellbeing Ministry, the Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Ministry, the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry, the Youth and Sports Ministry, the Tourism, Culture and the Environment Ministry, the Finance Ministry, the Works Ministry, the Rural

Development Ministry, the Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry Ministry, Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK), the Forestry Department, the Land and Survey Department and Sabah Archives Department (secretariat).

“The public is welcome to visit the exhibition with family members and friends so that they can both see and learn about the history of Sabah’s participation in the formation of Malaysia where local leaders were also involved.

“You can also witness the progress of development from the early era of the State Independence until now.

“A variety of interesting events will be prepared for the visitors, including the screening of historical films, quiz contests, sale of historical books and many more.

“Every visitor will benefit from this exhibition. Admission is free,” he said.
