Speed limit on roads nationwide down from 90km/h to 80km/h from Jan 18 to 27

KUALA LUMPUR – The speed limit on federal roads nationwide is lowered by 10km/h – from 90km/h to 80km/h – between January 18 and 27 in conjunction with the Chinese New Year break.

Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said this is part of the government’s move to mitigate the risk of road accidents during festive seasons.

“The Works Ministry will be working with the Transport Ministry and other agencies such as the Road Transport Department, Public Works Department, Malaysian Highway Authority and PLUS Malaysia on the road safety operation,” he was quoted as saying by Astro Awani.
