- Speedboat killer Jack Shepherd, 38, has pleaded guilty to two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and one count of damaging property against his new partner.
- The assaults, which occurred in February and June last year, involved Shepherd pinning down the woman and punching her, and striking her in the chest with barbecue tongs, causing a permanent scar.
- Shepherd entered his guilty pleas via video link from HMP Swaleside at Isleworth Crown Court, with prosecutors dropping two other allegations of controlling behaviour and intentional suffocation.
- These incidents led to Shepherd's recall to prison in September last year, having been on licence after serving part of a 10-year sentence for the 2018 manslaughter of Charlotte Brown.
- Judge Martin Edmunds KC remanded Shepherd into custody, ordering a probation report ahead of his sentencing hearing scheduled for September.
