Governor Kavinder Gupta on Sunday expressed concern over the rising drug menace among the youth in the state and called upon parents to spend quality time with their children, communicate openly, become their trusted companions and connect them to India’s rich cultural heritage and spiritual traditions.
He said this after participating in the sacred Shiv-Shakti Mahakatha and the Shiv Vivah Mahotsav organised by the Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan here. “While strict enforcement of law is essential, the strongest safeguard against such social evils lies in value-based upbringing,” he added.
The Governor urged people to collectively ensure that India’s cultural ethos, family traditions and spiritual values were passed on to future generations. He said that such events played a vital role in preserving India’s timeless cultural and spiritual heritage.
