‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ swings past P1B in PH box office in 12 days

MANILA, Philippines — "Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has crossed the ₱1-billion mark at the Philippine box office just 12 days after its July 29, 2026 premiere, becoming only the fourth film in the country’s box-office history to reach the milestone.

According to Columbia Pictures Industries Inc., the Marvel superhero film had earned ₱1,055,450,903 by its second weekend and continued to screen in more than 600 cinemas nationwide as ticket sales remained strong.

Its opening-day haul also ranks third-highest in Philippine box-office history, behind “Avengers: Endgame,” which opened in 2019, and “Avengers: Infinity War,” which debuted in 2018.

With its latest milestone, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” joins the exclusive billion-peso club alongside “Avengers: Endgame,” which grossed ₱1.8 billion; “Avengers: Infinity War,” with ₱1.2 billion; and “Hello, Love, Again,” which became the highest-grossing Filipino film domestically after surpassing the ₱1-billion mark.

Metro Manila cinemas contributed significantly to the film’s opening-day performance. SM Megamall led with ₱23.19 million, followed by Power Plant Cinema with ₱22.23 million. TriNoma, SM Mall of Asia and SM North EDSA recorded ₱20.68 million, ₱20.65 million and ₱19.24 million, respectively.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” follows Peter Parker, played by Tom Holland, as he attempts to live a more isolated life after erasing his identity from the world.

As Parker struggles with changes to his powers, he also tries to reconnect with former girlfriend MJ, played by Zendaya, and his best friend Ned, portrayed by Jacob Batalon. However, his attempts to rebuild his life are interrupted by a new threat to New York City, forcing Spider-Man to once again put his abilities to the test.

With the film still showing in hundreds of cinemas across the country, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” could further increase its record-breaking Philippine box-office haul in the coming days.
