Education Ministry credits teacher commitment for SPM 2025 results, with improved national grade and more certificate holders.
PUTRAJAYA: The success of candidates in the 2025 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination is a direct reflection of the sacrifices and unwavering commitment of their teachers.
Education director-general Datuk Dr Mohd Azam Ahmad said the long teaching and learning journey, spanning 11 to 12 years from preschool to secondary school, was filled with challenges.
He credited teachers for implementing various interventions that developed student potential and built the resilience needed to sit for the exams.
“Thanks to the unwavering dedication of teachers, who tirelessly carried out intervention after intervention to nurture their students’ potential, those guided and educated in the classroom were able to move forward with strong resilience,” he said at a press conference announcing the results.
The SPM 2025 results recorded a National Average Grade (GPK) of 4.42 points, an improvement from 4.49 points in 2024. A total of 366,435 candidates qualified for the SPM certificate, compared with 355,933 the previous year.
Mohd Azam said this success was also driven by support from state education departments, district offices, parents, communities, and government and private agencies.
He described this integrated collaboration as a key ingredient in ensuring the success of educational initiatives and bridging the urban-rural gap.
He expressed his highest appreciation to all members of the education community, especially teachers, for their dedication to educating the nation’s children.
“Their invaluable contributions are reflected in the SPM 2025 results. My heartfelt congratulations to all,” he said.
The director-general also thanked examination personnel, including invigilators, for ensuring the smooth conduct of SPM 2025.
He congratulated all SPM 2025 candidates, describing them as educated individuals with broad opportunities to achieve further success.
“I pray that all your affairs will be eased and that you will succeed,” he said.
