The mother of a 17-year-old who was supposed to be sitting for her SPM exam is begging her daughter to come home so she could patch things up between them.
This comes after the teen left her home in Alor Gajah, Melaka, last Thursday (Oct 22) after she was reprimanded by her mother.
Scolded teen over gadget usage
Nor Ernie Yusnitawaty Basiran told Harian Metro that her eldest daughter, Nur Alya Batrisyia Che Hairolnizat, was believed to have left their home in Taman Sri Kelemak between 2am and 5am while she and her husband were asleep.

A day before the teen’s disappearance, Nor Ernie had scolded Alya for being too engrossed with her gadgets, including using an app to meet new people online.
I scolded her not because I hated her, but because I wanted her to become a better person and was worried about her future, especially since she will be sitting for SPM.
“After that, I tried to comfort her and thought everything was fine. I never expected that she would secretly decide to leave home that night,” she said.
Blocked everyone
Nor Ernie said her daughter left behind a WhatsApp message claiming that no one understood or cared about her feelings before blocking the phone numbers of family members.

With her last known whereabouts being at Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS), Alya’s uncles and aunts in Kuala Lumpur tried contacting and persuading her to go to their homes.
However, she “blue ticked” them and never replied.
‘Please come home’
Nor Ernie added she’s been worried sick ever since her daughter went missing and would often worry about whether the teen ate or slept well outside of home.
She added that searches were carried out around the residential area and Alor Gajah, no one, including Alya’s close friends, had idea where the teen was.

In a desperate bid to convince Alya to come home, Nor Ernie had this to say:
“Kakak, if Mama has done anything wrong, Mama is sorry. Mama loves you, Kakak. Please come home, dear. Whatever the problem is, we can talk about it and work things out together.
“Every day, I pray that she is safe and protected from anything that could harm her. We have also performed special prayers for her safe return. I just want her to come home safely.”
Anyone with information about Alya’s whereabouts is urged to contact the nearest police station or her family at 010-8071957 or 0111-8561704.
