KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysians will now face higher monthly payments for Spotify Premium subscriptions, with price increases ranging from RM1 to RM3 across various plans.
The updated fees, effective immediately for new subscribers and from the next billing cycle for existing users, will affect all Premium plans.
The individual plan will increase from RM15.90 to RM17.50 (an additional RM1.60), while the Duo plan will rise by RM3, from RM21.50 to RM24.50.
The Family plan will see a similar increase, rising from RM24.90 to RM27.90, and the student plan will go up by RM1, from RM8.50 to RM9.50.
This price revision is part of a global hike that will impact several regions, including South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region. Spotify has stated that the changes are aimed at improving the company’s profit margins.
Subscribers will receive email notifications about the price changes in the coming month.
The price adjustment follows a smaller increase in August 2023, when Spotify raised subscription fees by RM1 to RM1.70 across various plans. - August 6, 2025
