Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison has opened up on his battle with depression following the 2022 World Cup.

The Brazil star, who was top scorer for his country in Qatar with three goals in four games, revealed that he wanted to “give up” after the tournament.

“I’d just played in a World Cup, man, at my peak,” Richarlison told ESPN Brasil during an interview this week.

“I’m not going to talk about killing myself, but I was in a depression there, and I wanted to give up.”
