KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Maju Jaya Secretariat (SSMJ) has cautioned the public against scams using its name to offer fake financial aid, grants, and special schemes through WhatsApp and other unofficial channels.

SSMJ secretary Datuk Rosmadi Sulai said the secretariat has never issued any financial or grant offers via personal messages or informal communication platforms.

“All official announcements or offers will only be made through the Sabah State Government’s official channels or SSMJ’s official portal,” he said in a statement today.

Rosmadi urged the public not to share personal information or transfer money to unknown parties and to lodge police reports if they receive suspicious messages.

He also reminded the public to verify information only through official state government websites or SSMJ’s verified social media platforms.
