St George’s flags have been hung up outside No 10 ahead of England’s Euro 2024 quarter-final clash with Switzlerland today (Saturday 6 July).

If they win, the Three Lions will be in their third semi-final under Gareth Southgate but have a confident opponant to beat as the Swiss team is coming off the back of a 2-0 win against Italy last week.

The bunting was put up just before Sir Keir Starmer’s speech at his first cabinet meeting as prime minister.

The Labour Party won the general election yesterday (5 July), ousting Rishi Sunak and the Conservatives by more than double the number of seats.
