
Kota Kinabalu: SM St Michael Penampang emerged triumphant at this year’s Perlis International Engineering Invention & Innovation Exhibition 2024 (Pi-Envex), bringing home the gold, silver and bronze medals for their creative ideas.
The event took place from April 26-28l at Dewan Ilmu, Kampus Alam, Pauh Putra, UniMAP, Perlis, and St Michael featured eight teams consisting 23 students as well as teachers Mariatul Hanis Merani Abdullah and Cyprian Rian Jokinol.
Organised by Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Pi-Envex is an annual event in which students of all ages can prepare and present innovative projects to be recognised and developed.
Team BotanIQ received a bronze for their invention ‘BotanIQ Oil’, while teams Snigs, INCR 4, Visionary, and Aces were awarded silver for innovative projects such as ‘Probos’, ‘The Sleeping Beauty’, ‘Project Aquasave’, and ‘Hydralert’.

Read more The top honours went to Team ASV with ‘Blusa Tanin Ball’, Team Sadge with ‘INKIFLUX – Turning Pollution into Poetry’, and Nathan with ‘Becach’, both claiming gold medals for their creations.
Meanwhile, Team Probos was recognised with the Pi-Envex Best Presentation Award and ‘INKIFLUX – Turning Pollution into Poetry’ received the prestigious Pi-Envex ‘Best Of The Best Award’, along with a cash prize of RM 1,000.
Principal Jennifer Asing expressed her pride in her students’ achievements and praised their presentation skills, critical thinking abilities and effective communication nurtured through the experience.
