Kundasang: Star Kundasang Division Chief Jain Sauting said the party’s decision to support Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) in the 17th Sabah State Election (GE DU) is to ensure that the state’s political stability is maintained.

He said among the priorities of their struggle is to ensure that the demand for 40 per cent of the Federal net revenue to Sabah is realised.

“Through the previous GRS Government, they succeeded until finally there was a decision that we could get that.

“I hope that through Star’s decision to cooperate and support GRS, we can get what we want, especially in fulfilling the people’s aspirations to continue the continuity of a stable government,” he said, Sunday.

Jain said Star currently has 6,100 members, consisting of two main groups — more than 3,000 are Star members, while the rest are former PKR supporters who were with Star at various levels.

He hoped all Star supporters and those who were with PKR could unite to ensure GRS’ victory in Kundasang.

GRS Kundasang candidate, Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam welcomed the support, saying it was not just political cooperation, but a joint struggle for a more stable and prosperous future for Sabah.
