Kota Kinabalu: Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) praised the Education Ministry for the decision to keep school canteens open during the fasting month of Ramadan, despite protests by opposition PAS.
Star Tanjung Aru Division Chief Hiew Choon Yu said the party continues to advocate for mutual recognition, understanding and respect among different ethnic and religious groups.
“We support the decision to keep school canteens open during Ramadan…Star respects the rights of non-Muslim students and fosters an environment of inclusivity,” he said.
Sabah demonstrated its commitment to multi-religious harmony by opposing the proposed Shariah Bill to control non-Islamic religions.
