Starting Monday (Feb 17), motorists holding a Probationary Driving Licence (PDL) can seamlessly upgrade to a Competent Driving Licence (CDL) via the MyJPJ mobile application.

According to Road Transport Department (JPJ) director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli, this new feature is expected to benefit approximately 2.38 million eligible PDL holders. He emphasized that the initiative aims to simplify the licence conversion process by eliminating the need for physical visits to JPJ counters.

"With this feature, PDL holders can apply for their CDL anytime and anywhere using their smartphones," he stated in a press release on Sunday (Feb 16).

To complete the conversion, applicants must first download or update the MyJPJ app and log in. They can then navigate through the relevant menus, submit their application, and make the necessary payment. Once processed, users will receive a notification regarding their application status.

Aedy Fadly highlighted the convenience of this feature, describing it as "easy, quick, time-saving, flexible, and user-friendly."

The MyJPJ app continues to expand its digital services, providing greater accessibility and efficiency for Malaysian motorists.
