SHAH ALAM, August 2 — The Selangor State Legislative Assembly has passed the First Selangor Plan (RS-1) for a period of five years from 2021 to 2015.

Speaker Ng Suee Lim announced the state economic plan was passed with support from assemblymen after it was discussed for three days, starting on Thursday last week.

Several representatives took part in the debate on the plan to drive the state’s development, including Kota Anggerik state assemblyman Najwan Halimi and Bandar Utama state assemblyman Jamaliah Jamaluddin.

Other participants include Bukit Lanjan state assemblyman Elizabeth Wong, Taman Medan state assemblyman Syamsul Firdaus Mohamed Supri, and Taman Templer state assemblyman Mohd Sany Hamzan.

The plan, tabled by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari on July 27, takes into account the implementation aspects of the comprehensive policies, projects and initiatives between the state and the Federal government.

He said Selangor’s efforts will not set aside the five-year planning under 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) which is still ongoing and bringing an impact to the state.

Amirudin added that RS-1 is designed to deal with the major global challenges, including the Russia-Ukraine War as well as the Cold War between China and the United States.
