KOTA KINABALU: The Higher Education Ministry (MOHE) and Wisma Putra are prepared for any potential situations, including the return of 336 Sabah students studying in the Middle East if the current unrest necessitates it.
Science, Technology, and Innovation Education Minister cum State Education Exco Datuk Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif (pic) said Sabah had past experiences in coordinating and monitoring students, including repatriating them during the political crisis in Egypt.
He added that the State Government would regularly contact Wisma Putra and MOHE for updates.
Currently, there are 248 Sabah students in Egypt, 79 in Jordan, and nine in Saudi Arabia, pursuing various majors through scholarships, bursaries, or self-funding.
